Child Welfare Nepal

Dashain Tika 2082 celebration at child welfare nepal

The greatest festival of Nepalese, ‘DASHAIN-2082’ has started from celebrating the traditional rituals Ghatasthapana (22 September), across the country, as devotees sowed JAMARA and invoked Goddess Shailaputri.
Across Nepal, families set up Ghatasthapana either in their household prayer rooms or at the Dashain Ghar set up in the locality. The day is dedicated to Shailaputri, the first manifestation of Goddess Durga among the Navadurgas.

With the rituals observed, devotees believe the nine days of Navaratri will bring blessings of health, prosperity, and protection.

Similarly, CWN also organized a Dashain festival program with the active participation of the supported children on 26th September 2025. We put Tika and gave them blessings for their prosperity. Giving blessings by the elder and seeking blessings from the younger is one of the traditional methods to celebrate the Dashain festival. The festival was celebrated with joy and happiness, and the children and staff members were delighted to share the festivities. Besides that, CWN provided a lunch box set to all the children at the end of the program.

Winter camp activities from 8-18 January 2026

The Children’s Winter Camp is a transformative initiative by CWN to foster the overall development of children. This program is part of our broader Children’s Development Program, which seeks to protect children’s rights and provide access to quality education, essential life skills, and health education. In many schools throughout Nepal, education centers primarily on exams and rote memorization, leaving little room for creativity, leadership, and personal development.

This gap becomes even more pronounced in disadvantaged communities, where children may miss out on recreational opportunities during school breaks. Our Children’s Winter Camp aims to close this gap by providing a safe, structured, and enjoyable environment for children aged 9 to 15. They can explore their creativity, develop leadership skills, and forge lasting friendships here.

The program explicitly targets underprivileged children whose families may lack the resources to take them on vacations during school breaks. Through creative activities, team-building exercises, and cultural exchanges, these camps provide children with a unique opportunity to grow and develop in ways that extend beyond the classroom.

Winter camps provide children with an invaluable opportunity to develop their social, emotional, mental, and creative skills in a safe and supportive environment. These camps are significant for children in rural communities with limited access to organized extracurricular activities.

We aim to instill essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, communication, and confidence by engaging children in creative workshops, physical activities, and cultural experiences. Through these camps, children enjoy a productive vacation while developing the personal skills they need to thrive.

Annual School Supplies Distribution Program 2082

School supplies, backpacks, and uniforms are provided annually to each child who is supported by CWN under the Prevention and Sponsorship Program. APC-FRANCE plays a key role in the annual distribution program for the funding of the distribution program.

As a part of the Educational Support program, Child Welfare Nepal distributed essential school supplies to 155 supported beneficiaries from grade 1 to XII (high school).

CWN distributed notebooks, pens, pencils, calculators, and other stationery items to the 155 children along with a school bag and shoes.

Having the right tools for school is essential to a child’s academic success.

The School Supplies Distribution Event (2025) was held on 28th June 2025, at Shanti Nikunja Secondary School, where the school area is spacious for the event.

The impact of the school supplies distribution has been profound.

Students now have the tools they need to succeed academically. This focus has created a more engaging and inclusive atmosphere at the school, where every child feels supported and motivated to learn.

Parents and community members have expressed their gratitude for the support provided by Child Welfare Nepal.

The school supplies distribution project has relieved the children and families of the financial strain of purchasing these items, allowing them to focus on other needs.

This support has fostered a stronger sense of community around the school, with everyone working together to ensure the students have the best possible education.

The school uniforms and dress are one of the primary resources for the children to attend school. Without proper uniforms and dress, the children are not allowed to enter the school by the administration.
