The National Examinations Board (NEB) on 11 May 2026 published the results of this year’s Secondary Education Examinations (SEE), held from April 2 to April 12.
SEE is famed as the “IRON GATE” to students before joining higher-level education (+2) in NEPAL.
A total of 65.98 per cent of students secured grades and qualified for further studies, marking a rise from last year’s 61.81 percent. According to the board, 284,160 students passed the examination, while 146,507 were placed in the non-graded category.
Generally, SEE results were made public around the third week of June. This year, the results were published within a month, significantly earlier than in previous years.
Subsequently, on 15 May 2026, CWN organized a career counseling and interaction program to ensure that SEE graduates (11 supported students this year) were aware of their further study options.
The program was organized from 11:30 PM to 2 PM.
The vast inquiries, table talk, and focus group discussions were discussed among the graduates.
Every student opined on their further planning and studies, highlighting their choice of the course and college.
Subsequently, the program was chaired by Executive Director (Raju Khadka), along with facilitation from Finance Head (Anima Khadka), Program Coordinator (Amrit Karki), and Program Associate (Indira Kunwar). Each staff member shared their academic journey from schooling to high school so that the children can receive the required knowledge.
The CWN fraternity gave an insight into the +2 courses available for highlighting various entrance examinations and how to prepare for them as well.
We emphasized the importance of pursuing an appropriate course in +2, which plays a pivotal role in shaping the future growth and development of students during the session.
The career counseling and interaction program organized by CWN provided a valuable platform for these students to
explore their future academic paths and receive guidance tailored to their aspirations. CWN remains committed to supporting them, ensuring they have the resources and knowledge needed to succeed in their further studies.
With insightful discussions led by experienced staff and comprehensive information on +2 courses, entrance exams, and future career paths, the students were well-equipped to make informed decisions about their academic and professional futures. The diverse aspirations of the students, ranging from studying abroad to pursuing nursing and government employment, were thoroughly explored, ensuring each student received personalized advice to navigate their unique journeys ahead.

Annual Parents meeting & interaction program 2083 dated 27th april 2026
A meeting was organized at Shanti Nikunja School on 27th April, 2026 among all the parents of students supported by Child Welfare Nepal. A wide range of major schooling issues that includes performances (result) of students in the year 2082, parents’ duties/ time contribution for their children, schooling support for 2083 as in 2082, migration/ contact number change without notice, usage of mobile phone affecting in result & so on were discussed in the meeting. Almost 50% of guardians of students from different schools attended actively in the interaction session & complete the session with the positive energy to give priority to their children focusing on their study.
New Year 2083 Celebration Program at CWN
CWN organized a New Year 2083 celebration program on 14 April 2026, with the active participation of CWN-supported children, child club, and staff members. Around 23 students and five staff members attended the New Year 2083 program. The program commenced at 12 PM.
A speech of the New Year 2083 with a message of social harmony, peace, and prosperity was delivered to all the children by the staff members. Kajal Kumari Rajak designed the banner of the program.The majority of girls participated in the program and danced in various songs for over 1 hour. Ritesh Pujari and Rupesh Gurung, students from Saraswati Niketan Secondary School, sang a song and played a guitar to entertain all the attendees. At the end of the program, a cake worth two pounds and a lunch box were distributed to all the children.
Religious Tour to Sanga Mahadevstan on 10th April 2026
CWN organized a tour as part of religious education for the students supported by CWN on 10 April 2026 to Saanga Mahadevsthan, located in the Kavrepalanchok district, Bagmati Province, Nepal. Around 31 students and five staff members attended the religious tour. A bus (BA 4 KHA 4232) was hired for the whole day (pick up and drop off) service from Paropakar-20, KMC to Saanga (Kavre). The bus departed at 11 AM, and we reached Saanga at 12:30 PM. After a 10-minute walk from the bus stop, we reached the Mahadev statue. During the tour, children aged The children inspected the statue, the gardens, and the pleasant environment, which is hassle-free from the hustle and bustle lifestyle of Kathmandu. After a one-hour visit, all the children were provided with snacks & cold drinks. After finishing it, the children danced and enjoyed the music and rhythms. Similarly, the children were taken to a nearby restaurant to relax, and they were treated to the delicious Khaaja (mid-afternoon meal). After finishing a delicious afternoon meal, we departed for KTM and arrived at 6 PM at Paropakar.
The visit to the religious tour to Saanga is a part of exploring historical and religious knowledge for all the participants.
Grocery material distribution program dated 30 March 2026
On 30 March 2026, CWN hosted a Grocery Materials Distribution Program for one of the
deprived, disadvantaged, and most vulnerable families. The Association Pomme Cannelle
supported and backed the distribution program.
Materials distributed:
1) Rice- 20 sacks worth 15/15 KG to 40 families
2) Cereals: 40 KG
3) Biscuit: 40 packets
4) Salt: 40 packets
The relief materials were provided to low-income families to boost their morale.
The motto of this distribution program was to fight against ‘HUNGER’. After assessment of all families of supported children through home visit, CWN discovered very vulnerable situation of most of the families. So, CWN tried to include most of the families whose situation was very difficult for this distribution program & tried to decrease their immediate food problem through this program.
The main objective of the program was to ‘minimize the vulnerability of families, children,
and special needs groups by improving short-term food security situations.
Similarly, a mostly female group was selected for distribution.
Around 40 children and their families attended the distribution program and received the
relief materials.
To conclude, CWN refines the beneficiary selection process to ensure the most in-need
families are reached.
Nevertheless, the Grocery Material Distribution Program has proved to be a critical
intervention in supporting vulnerable communities. The continued support and, if possible,
expansion of the program are recommended to maintain the positive impact on children and
families.
Christmas celebration 2025 & Happy New Year 2026 program
A total of 43 children attended the Christmas Program on 18th December, 2025. The program was celebrated at the CWN office with the presence of children and staff. A three-pound cake was ordered for the program. Children enjoyed the celebration by singing the songs, designing art and craft postcards, and popping the balloons. The children were overjoyed at the celebration by eating the delicious cake. A few gifts were exchanged between the children. Likewise, 80 sponsored children were engaged in letter writing to their godparents as a part of cultural exchange. They also wrote a letter and prepared a postcard to their godparents. Similarly, CWN-supported children delivered a postcard to the donor agency (Association Pomme Cannelle-France) thanking them for their love and support.
Saraswati Puja Celebration Program 2082
Saraswati Puja, also known as Vasant Panchami, is a Hindu festival dedicated to the goddess Saraswati, the deity of wisdom, knowledge, arts, and learning. It is celebrated across Nepal and India with great fervor, especially in educational institutions, as students seek blessings for academic success.
Activities and Rituals:
1.Prayer and Invocation: The celebration commenced with the chanting of Vedic hymns and mantras, invoking the blessings of the Goddess Saraswati. Around 30 students of the child club and CWN staff members participated in the prayers with utmost devotion at the CWN central office.
2.Offerings and Puja: An elaborate puja ceremony was conducted, wherein offerings of flowers, fruits, sweets, and incense were made to the goddess. Students and staff prayed for academic success and enlightenment.
3.Distribution of the offerings: Offerings, consisting of sweets and fruits blessed during the puja, were distributed among the attendees as a symbol of divine grace and prosperity.
4.Cultural Programs: Following the puja, cultural programs such as solo and group dance recitals, music performance, art/crafts, handwriting competition, poetry readings, speech regarding the goddess Saraswati puja and its significance, and quiz competition themed were organized during the program, focusing on knowledge and wisdom. Around 10-15 solo and group dances were showcased during the program by the students. The cultural program was held at Shanti Nikunja Secondary School.
Conclusion:
The Saraswati Puja Program was a joyous occasion filled with devotion, cultural richness, and academic fervor. It provided an opportunity for students to seek blessings for success in their studies and showcased their talents in various artistic and cultural fields. The event fostered a sense of community and reverence towards knowledge, embodying the essence of the Wisdom goddess, Saraswati.
Overall, the Saraswati Puja Program was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on all those who participated and reinforcing the significance of education, knowledge, and wisdom in our lives.
Grocery Materials Distribution Program 2025
On 7th November 2025, CWN hosted a Grocery Materials Distribution Program for one of the deprived, disadvantaged, and most vulnerable families.
The Association Pomme Cannelle supported and backed the distribution program.
CWN distributed grocery materials worth one sack of rice, a packet of salt, cookies (biscuits), and half a liter of cooking oil to all 31 families.
The sanitary pads were also provided to girls above 12 years as a part of menstruation education.
The relief materials were provided to low-income families to boost their morale. The main motto of this distribution program was to fight against ‘HUNGER’.
The main objective of the program was to ‘minimize the vulnerability of families, children, and special needs groups by improving short-term food security situations.
The female group was selected for distribution. Around thirty-one girls attended the distribution program and received the relief materials.
The items were purchased via the Kandel store, a wholesaler based at Kalimai-12.
To conclude, CWN refines the beneficiary selection process to ensure the most in-need families are reached.
Nevertheless, the Grocery Material Distribution Program has proved to be a critical intervention in supporting vulnerable communities. Continued support and, if possible, expansion of the program are recommended to maintain the positive impact on children’s education and family stability.
Financial Grant Aid and Support to SUNDARI DHAMI (mother of paras dhami)

Brief Report about the Activity:
Parash Dhami is a student being supported by CWN since January, 2022. Parash is currently enrolled in grade 5 at Shanti Nikunja Secondary School. His mother (Sundari Dhami) is a permanent resident of Darchula, currently residing in Jhochhen-23, KMC.
Sundari works as a housemaid while her husband is a security guard.
They migrated to Kathmandu 11 years ago from Darchula in search of better jobs, opportunity and education.
There are five members in the family (Father, Mother, and three children, with two sons and a daughter).
The two sons are in Kathmandu, both studying in the Shanti Nikunja Secondary School in grades 5 and 8, respectively, while the elder sister (Manisha Dhami) is in Darchula.
Sundari Dhami suffered from Cervical cancer, and she showed us all the treatment reports, and thus, we decided to provide a grant/financial aid for her treatment.
She was undergoing her treatment at Bhaktapur based Cancer hospital for the past 7 months.
The grant was handed over by Mr. Raju Khadka, Executive Director.
This small amount of grant will sustain for minor treatment and purchasing a medicine required for a month, Dhami said after receiving the grant.
She also expressed her gratitude towards CWN for providing support in this difficult moment.
Tihar Deusi/vailo program 2082 at CWN on 19th October 2025
Tihar is one of the Nepal’s largest and most important Hindu festival, celebrated with great enthusiasm. Tihar or Deepawali, which follows Dashain in October or early November, is a five-day festival of lights in Nepal that honors deities, animals, and family bonds, including Laxmi (goddess of wealth), crows, dogs, and cows. Each day has special rituals, such as worshipping dogs, lighting homes with lamps and flowers, and celebrating Bhai Tika, where sisters apply tika to their brothers’ foreheads for their well-being. The festival promotes love, gratitude, and harmony between humans, animals, and the divine.
Similarly, on 19th October 2025, Child club of CWN has organized Deusi/vailo program at CWN office. Firstly, Executive director & finance head began the program by brief description about Tihar festival. Later, members of CWN’s Child club gave short description about Tihar & organized deusi/ vailo program at CWN where children had performed varieties of cultural dance, songs & played deusi/ vailo really very well with grace. The festival was celebrated with joy and happiness, and the children and staff members were delighted to share the festivities. Besides that, CWN provided a snacks set & fruits to all the children at the end of the program.
