“Every child is a different kind of flower that altogether makes this world a beautiful garden.” Child Welfare Nepal celebrated Children’s Day on 14 September 2026 with great festive fervor to commemorate the 62nd anniversary celebrated across the nation. The theme for International Children’s Day is “Inclusion, for every child”. This theme means that every child belonging to any society, community, or nationality is entitled to equal rights. It also emphasizes the eradication of discrimination among children of various civilizations. Not only the general rights, but a global society welcomes and offers space to children of all types of skin tones. In addition, Raju Khadka, Executive Director, gave a formal speech on the importance of Children’s Day and stated that every child has a basic right to health, education, and other necessary needs. Likewise, the program was organized with the active participation of the child club members and the supported students. A total of 23 children participated in the program along with five CWN staff members. Four activities (a dance show, a quiz, a speech on children’s rights, and a song) were conducted during the program. The dance show was performed by (Sugandha, Rashila Bhandari, Aashika Rayamajhi, Muskan Khatun, Binita Thapa, Karuna Raut, Priti Gurung, Khusi Thapa Magar, Sapana Raisali, Karishma Shahi, Rojina Gautam, Purnima Thapa Magar, and Prakriti Budhathoki) on various songs.
Similarly, Pratima Karki, President of the child club, delivered a speech on Children’s Day and the rights of children. On the other hand, a total of four groups took part in the quiz competition, where General Knowledge questions were asked to the participants. The program commenced at 11 PM and concluded at 3:30 PM. In the end, Kajal Rajak recited a poem about Children’s Day and children’s rights. Anima Khadka, Finance Head, anchored the program and expressed sincere gratitude to all the children who participated in the program. Subsequently, one plate of momo (dumplings) was provided to the children. Subsequently, a cake worth two pounds was sliced, and the children relished a piece of cake; the children’s day hence came to a pleasant conclusion. To be precise, CWN is always committed to protecting the rights of the children and their basic needs in the future too. We thank all those who directly and indirectly supported us in making this program a successful part of the CWN journey.
