Krishna Janmastami 2083 celebration at CWN
Krishna Janmashtami, also known as Krishnashtami, Janmashtami, or Gokulashtami, is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu, as described in prominent Hindu scriptures such as the Mahabharata, Bhagavata Purana, and Gita Govinda.
This year, Krishna Janmashtami fell on 4 September 2026. However, CWN celebrated Janmashtami on 30 October with the active participation of the CWN-supported children and child club members. A total of 22 children participated in the event.
A speech regarding Krishna Janmashtami was presented by Priti Gurung, a student of Bidyodaya Basic School.
The children drew a poster of Lord Krishna, and postcards were exchanged between the children as part of the event celebration.
Likewise, Mr. Raju Khadka’s birthday was celebrated at the event.
In the end, the program was concluded with a group dance performance by the girls.
